A Mormon Family Journal

As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we are a family of deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ. We rejoice in his divinity as the Son of God, in his Infinite Atonement, and in the truthfulness of his Gospel. We desire to join the members of our family currently serving full-time missions in proclaiming these truths to all the world, and so publish this blog of our letters of faith to them in the hope that others may come to know as we know that Jesus is the Christ.

Christ at Gethsemane

Christ at Gethsemane
'Prayer at Gethsemane' by Del Parson

This Is The Christ

They heard His voice, a voice so mild;
It pierced them through and made their souls to quake;
They saw Him come, a man in white,
The Savior who had suffered for their sake.
They felt the wounds in hands and side,
And each could testify: This is the Christ!
This is the Christ, the holy Son of God,
Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind.
This is the Christ, the healer of our souls
Who ransomed us with love divine.

I read His words, the words He prayed
While bearing sorrow in Gethsemane;
I feel His love, the price He paid.
How many drops of blood were spilled for me?
With saints of old in joyful cry
I too can testify: This is the Christ!
This is the Christ, the holy Son of God,
Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind.
This is the Christ, the healer of our souls
Who ransomed us with love divine.

Elder James E. Faust
former Second Counselor of the First Presidency

About Me

My Photo
P Freeman
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have a husband of 28+ years, three sons, two daughters-in-law, and two grandchildren. I enjoy writing, reading, quilting, drawing and painting, arts and crafts, and starting projects which I never finish. My great delight in life is my family: my precious grandchildren who restore life to this too-quiet house, my sons and daughters all upon the brink of the next exciting phases in their lives, and my wonderful, supportive and tender husband. These, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ which ensures our family unity for the eternities, are my ultimate joys.
